The Young'ens - Youth Hunting Program - Hog Wild Adventures
At Hog Wild Adventures, we believed in passing down the tradition of hunting to the next generation. Our youth program, affectionately called "The Young'ens," was designed to introduce kids ages 10-17 to the outdoors in a safe, supervised, and fun environment.
Program Overview
The Young'ens program paired each youth hunter with an experienced guide and covered the fundamentals of responsible hunting:
- Firearm safety and handling
- Wildlife identification and tracking
- Field dressing and game processing
- Outdoor survival basics
- Conservation and land stewardship
What Made Our Program Special
Every young hunter who completed the program received a certificate of completion and got to take home their harvest. We partnered with local processors in East Texas to ensure every hog was properly cleaned and packaged. Many families returned year after year, making it a tradition.
Safety First
Safety was the cornerstone of The Young'ens program. All participants were required to complete a Texas Hunter Education course (or equivalent from their home state) before joining a guided hunt. Our guides maintained a strict one-to-one ratio with youth hunters at all times in the field.
Parents and guardians were welcome to join the hunt or observe from our lodge, where they could watch the action from a comfortable vantage point.
